The Institute for Historic Residential Research was founded by Dominic Florio out of a lifelong fascination with historic architecture, genealogy, and the stories hidden within older homes.

For many homeowners, a house is more than a place to live—it is a connection to the people, craftsmanship, and history that came before. Yet the stories of those homes are often forgotten over time. Through careful research and documentation, I help uncover and preserve those stories for future generations.

Using deeds, maps, newspapers, city directories, census records, architectural analysis, and other historical sources, I create custom reports that explore a home's architectural development, ownership history, and historical significance.
